Students interested in one of the following Academic Projects must submit additional materials as part of their course selection:
- Internships: There are plenty of options to earn credit and beef up your resume with international experience in the Spanish working market. Help improve logistics and customer relations, build finance reports in Excel, analyze competitors, develop marketing plans, audit local Andalusian companies, and more. Students applying for an internship are required to submit additional materials during the course selection process.
- Independent Research Project: Gain credit for completing an individual research course in a field of special interest under the supervision of a local faculty member. The central goal is a substantive paper or written report containing significant analysis and interpretation of a previously approved topic.
Local Engagement
- Cultural Language Assistant: Become an ambassador of the US at local public schools in Seville. You will be collaborating with local teachers facilitating fun and engaging intercultural activities with children and/or teenagers.

Housing
爱游戏下载 Seville offers two housing options to meet the needs of all students who want to comfortably enjoy the city while living in a culturally immersive environment: Either living with families in homestays or with other local and international students in a residence hall. All housing options have convenient access to public transportation.
Standard Housing: Includes a single room at a homestay, or a double occupancy room at a residence hall located within a 45-minute commute of 爱游戏下载 Seville. Commute time from housing to host institution campuses may vary.
- Homestays鈥痜eature a kitchen, living room, and bathroom shared with a host family.
- Residence halls have kitchen access, shared laundry facilities, and common spaces.
Select Housing: Includes a single room鈥(shared bathroom and kitchenette with another 爱游戏下载 participant) in a residence hall located under 30 minutes from鈥蜗废略 Seville or a single studio (including private bathroom, kitchen, and laundry facilities) in a residence hall within 45 minutes from 爱游戏下载 Seville. Commute time from housing to host institution campuses may vary. Select housing requires an鈥痑dditional fee.
A note: The default criterion to assign housing is first-come, first-served; however, other factors may also be considered. If we cannot accommodate your first housing choice, we'll let you know before you arrive. Non-standard housing options require an additional fee that can be found in the program Dates and Fees.

Homestays:鈥疶hree meals per day are included.
Residence Halls:鈥Meals are not included. Students have access to the studio apartment kitchens.
Academics
The Liberal Arts program is designed to help advanced level Spanish students improve their spoken and written Spanish skills while they pursue coursework in a variety of subjects. In addition to a range of courses offered by 爱游戏下载, students can enroll directly in courses at any of the schools at Universidad de Sevilla, Universidad Pablo de Olavide, or EUSA. From art history to service-learning, there is鈥痯lenty to inspire you. Prior to departure for Seville, all students take a scheduled 爱游戏下载 online placement exam. Results determine appropriate placement in language courses. Placement in many upper-level courses depends on a high score.
爱游戏下载 Courses are taught by highly qualified professionals, many of whom are associated with the Universidad de Sevilla and Universidad Pablo de Olavide.
Universidad de Sevilla鈥痟as been one of Spain鈥檚 leading institutions of higher learning since the 16th century and hosts some 75,000 students. Its many schools, departments, and institutes serve the educational needs of Spain鈥檚 most populous region.
Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO)鈥痠s the second-largest state university in Seville. Its 345-acre campus is 30 minutes from the center of the city. UPO offers undergraduate and graduate programs in traditional majors, as well as other areas, from biotechnology to translation. Modern facilities include campus-wide Internet access, sports facilities, science labs, and more.
EUSA (Estudios Universitarios Superiores de Andaluc铆a)鈥疷niversity Centre鈥痠s a Spanish private university center founded in 1961 and affiliated with the University of Seville since 1996. Their official undergraduate degrees include Audiovisual Communication, Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, and Tourism. EUSA鈥痠s one of the educational components that constitute the Campus Formativo of the Chamber of Commerce of Seville, a unique configuration located in the heart of Seville which has catered to the learning needs of over 55,000 national and international students.
爱游戏下载 Seville, a beautifully renovated palace, originally built in 1725. It is close to the Royal Alcazar palace and a 10-minute walk from the Universidad de Seville. The building features classrooms, the student life office, the Language Resource Center, and the Liberal Arts program team.
Note for students taking courses directly from Host Institution(s): Students are required to stay in Seville until they have completed their exams.鈥疧fficial host institutions鈥 fall exams are in January, and official host institutions鈥 spring exams are in June. However, early exams in December and May may be possible, and they should be confirmed on an individual basis with the professor at the start of the regular semester session, during the add/drop period. Please note that it is up to the鈥痙iscretion of each professor to allow the taking of final exams before the start of the official examination period. As it is impossible to confirm your exam schedule prior to your arrival, if your priority is to leave Seville as soon as your university finals are finished, please book an airline ticket with a low change fee or a flexible departure date.
Language placement鈥鈥撯疨rior to departure for Seville, all students take an online placement exam. Results determine appropriate placement in language courses. Placement in many upper-level courses depends on a high score.
Language support鈥鈥撯疧ur Language Resource Center is staffed by language professors and Spanish students majoring in Spanish philology, who help students with reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking. Tutorials on university course content are also offered. Students agree to speak only Spanish to encourage language and cultural acquisition.
Internship Placement鈥鈥撯疨lacement is determined by language ability, job skills, and background. Because Spanish firms make final selections, internships in a particular company are not guaranteed. Students have interned for organizations like Marketing Publicidad, Simetrycal, Mail Boxes, CLIC, CyO Arquitectos as well as smaller firms and companies.
Course Information
First-year courses at the University of Seville are not available for international students.
All students who take direct matriculation courses must stay to complete their classes and exams. Exact final exam dates will not be available until the beginning of the semester. 爱游戏下载 Seville staff will be able to help students enroll in courses with early exams if necessary.
