Tailored for students with a background in architecture, design, and sustainability, the Global Architecture + Design program invites students to experience Barcelona's countless cultural wonders while earning college credits!
When class is in session at 爱游戏下载 Barcelona's partner school, the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IaaC), students will focus on creating model cities that address climate change by reducing the environmental footprint of buildings. Experts from Barcelona's architecture and design community will deliver all seminars, hands-on workshops, and courses in English and provide students with access to today's cutting-edge technology. Additionally, required courses are complemented with 爱游戏下载 electives, taught in English or Spanish, that feature co-curricular activities and excursions organized by 爱游戏下载.
Outside the classroom, you'll have plenty of time to explore everything Barcelona has to offer. Your Destination
Culture, sport, fashion, finance, media, and entertainment 鈥 Barcelona is brimming with it all. The largest city on the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is home to 1.7 million people in the city proper and 4.5 million people in the broader metro area. It is edged with a river on either side and backed by the Serra de Collserola mountains to the west.
Castilian Spanish and Catalan are the official languages. Both are regularly used in all aspects of life, and Catalan is not imposed. Taxi drivers, shopkeepers, professors, and host families all speak clear Castilian when Spanish speakers are present. Spanish is widely used in the streets. Students don鈥檛 need to speak Catalan but learning a few words can open doors to making new friends.

- Standard Housing: Includes a single room at a homestay or a single room at a residence hall located within 50 minutes from 爱游戏下载 Barcelona. Homestays feature a kitchen, living room, and bathroom shared with a host family. Residence halls boast shared kitchens, common areas, and laundry facilities shared with other students.
- Select Housing: Includes a double room at a shared apartment located within 30 minutes from 爱游戏下载 Barcelona. Apartments boast shared kitchens, common areas, and laundry facilities shared with other students. Select housing requires an additional fee.
- Select Plus Housing: Includes a single room at a residence hall or shared apartment (limited availability) located within 30 minutes from 爱游戏下载 Barcelona. Residence halls boast shared kitchens, common areas, and laundry facilities shared with other students. Select Plus housing requires an additional fee.

爱游戏下载 designed this program with Maria Aiolova, award-winning educator, architect, urban designer, co-founder of Terreform ONE, and chair of the ONE Lab NY School for Design and Science. The program is intended to help students develop a language of technological design that links individual responsibility and the global environmental crisis through the study of places, cities, and cultures.
The program includes the Future Cities Design Studio,鈥痑 Future Cities seminar, a Science, Engineering, and Technology workshop, and an elective class. Students have access to cutting-edge facilities at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IaaC).

The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IaaC) applies research and development to architecture and urbanism, welcoming students and investigators from more than 60 countries. IaaC collaborates with the City Council of Barcelona, Collserola Natural Park, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Center for Information Technology and Architecture, Southern California Institute of Architecture, and companies like CISCO, Endesa, and Kuka Robotics. Together they develop research programs that bring together experts in architecture, engineering, biology, sociology, anthropology, and other fields.鈥疪ead on IaaC.
